Our club is designed for individuals passionate about flying, whether you're taking the first step towards earning your wings or you're an experienced aviator seeking to enjoy the skies with fellow aviators.
Our mission is to empower every member with the freedom of flight, providing the tools, knowledge, and support necessary to explore the skies with confidence. At GWFC, we don't just teach people to fly; we inspire them to soar.
By joining GWFC as a paid member, you gain access to our fleet aircraft for private use, allowing you to check out one of our aircraft and discover the skies.
For those who don't have their wings but are seeking to conquer the skies, GWFC is here to help. We can connect you with some of the finest flight instructors allowing you to learn to fly in the club aircraft.
GWFC is a not for profit organization. We're structed to make flying more affordable for all! There are two main costs with joining GWFC. The annual membership fee giving you access to the airplanes and the hourly cost recovery fee which is the cost of the fuel and hourly maintenance costs associated with each flight.

The holder of a Recreational Pilot Permit will have restrictions that Private Licence holders do not. This includes the ability to fly within Canada only, only able to fly aircraft with 4 seats or less, only able to carry one passenger at any time
Almost all pilots in Canada earn a traditional private pilot licence. It is what most people think of when we say that someone has their “private.” It has the fewest limitations and, with additional training, can be upgraded to include more advanced capabilities such as flying in bad weather, flying an airplane with two or more engines, or flying professionally.
Allows the pilot to fly during official night. Night Flying is one the most beautiful and peaceful times to fly.
Flying VFR Over-the-Top means flying with visual reference to a layer of cloud instead of the earth's surface. This type of VFR flying offers challenges that require advanced training in instrument flying and radio navigation skills. It also requires advanced training and skill in interpretation and application of weather reports and forecasts.
